Thankful... Day Eleven

Today, I am thankful for all the veterans who have served in our nation's armed forces.  You are owed a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. 

 

To my own family members... "Thank you!" Dad and Grandad!

9/11 - Never Forget

"Will it happen again?"

"Would they do it today since it's September 11th again?"

Wow.

How do I answer these questions with the honesty my teens deserve? We've talked about this subject a lot lately.

Our conclusion?

The best way to make sure it never happens again is to never forget that it happened in the first place.

Confessions: Something to think about.

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the industrious out of it. You don't multiply wealth by dividing it. Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn't first take from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. September 11, 2001 - Never Forget!

A day to remember...

Time has a way of rewriting history.

To gloss over horrific events.

Events that are hard to look at without raw emotions surfacing in those memories.

Sometimes it's easier to create peaceful, lovely memorials.

But there was nothing peaceful about that day.

Or lovely.

This day changed our country.

May we never forget it.
