"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the industrious out of it. You don't multiply wealth by dividing it. Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn't first take from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don't have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don't get to enjoy the fruit of their labor."(Ten Secrets for a Successful Family by Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1996, p. 138)

Now THAT is a truism! Put it on a bumpersnicker and I'll slap it on my van...Even if someone only reads the first line as they pass me, they'll get the point.
Happy end of the week to you---hope the kiddos have had a good first few days.

EXCELLENT quote.
That's a lot to think about in such a small paragraph!
That is what I love about N Alabama- we get fall! I grew up along the Alabama coast then lived in Destin, FL so we didn't have a fall either. It is just so beautiful here when the trees turn. The pear trees should all be turning soon, they are the first to all bloom. One of my most favorite seasons!
So true. If only more people actually took that to heart...instead of being greedy.
