- You're proud of your state fair, but would rather go to Cedar Point.
- You know all the 4 seasons: Winter, Still Winter, Almost Winter, and Construction.
- You know what a buckeye really is, and have a recipe for candy ones.
- You know "Toward the lake" means "north."
- You can spell words like Cuyahoga, Olentangy, Bellefontaine, and Tuscarawas and you know which letter is doubled in "Cincinnati."
- You know that Serpent Mounds were not made by snakes.
- You know what's knee-high by the Fourth of July.
- You know what pop is.
- You know driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
- You actually understand these jokes then forward them to all your Ohio friends!!

Oh, so familiar! So many years an so many memories in Ohio. :) Now I'm craving some of those sweet and creamy peanut butter and chocolate Buckeyes. A favorite that I make *every* Christmas!
Ok, I am so not from Ohio!! :)
I'm not from Ohio but I enjoyed these just the same. I especially chuckled at the 4 seasons.
So cute!
Once my mom gets back online this week, I'll send her the link to your blog since she grew up in Ohio!
Of course it was way back in the 30's, but I'm sure she'll get some of it! :)
(And I'm from the NW but maybe it's because of her that I grew up calling it "pop"!)
We love Ohio, most especially Cincinnati. I loved the one about the potholes, so true. One word of caution (unlike me) if you see black slush on the road don't run over it; changing a flat tire in the snow is no fun, especially if you spare is already on the car.
Oh My Gosh! I am still chuckling! If you are like me, you don't really miss some of those. Especially the potholes. And the seasons.
The ones I miss: Buckeyes on *everyone's* dessert platter at Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, bridal showers, baby showers,...and those "knee high" thingamabobbers we love to crunch into around August--especially grilled! At the fair! YUM!
Thanks for the memory lane moment...
Love you,
